Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
In October 2009 the HSE made changes to the delivery of First Aid Courses, where it is now a requirement for anyone providing 1 day First Aid Training to be approved.
Opus Training is pleased to to be an accredited centre with the HABC
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations suggest that employers need to complete a risk assessment to ascertain how many first aid personnel should be in their workplace. It is common practice for many staff to be trained in the basics of incident management and life support as a back up to the fully trained first aiders.
This course is ideal for that purpose and is completed in one day. Anyone of us could be in a position where we need to support a colleague until the first aider or emergency services arrive and feeling helpless is not a nice feeling.
The knowledge could also be of value when with family and friends as well as at work. Practice is not something that comes automatically with this subject so regular training is a way of keeping the skills in the forefront.
